Your Official Run Club of the Northern Beaches is Here!
Who are we?
Just a husband and wife duo who love running (one who is a little more serious than the other when it comes to PB’s and Goals).
Hi, I am Amanda. Northern Beaches local (since 2021 - Hometown Melbourne). I am your local Reformer Pilates & Group Fitness Studio owner at Active Collective and if holding certs in so many fitness modalities wasn’t enough I am also a Level 2 Athletics Australia Run Coach since 2018.
I love running and the community it brings with it. For me it isn’t the running that get’s me out of bed every morning at 4am but it’s the community and the challenge that it brings.
Experience: Well, I used to run 400m with the Vic Institute of Sport and many moons later having met my husband and then when my mum passed away the constant conversations we had of me giving a Half Marathon ago became a reality. In my mind (back then) who would want to run more than 5km must have had rocks in their head. I ran my first ever Melbourne Marathon 21km just getting it done with grit and determination not to stop. Subsequently I got bitten by the challenge and have run over 16 Half Marathons across Australia and 7 Marathons in the Major Australian Cities.
My passion for running really comes down to the community and I couldn’t be more pumped to share our love of running with our local community.
Back in Melbourne I was lucky enough to not only Head Up Medibank’s Run Club but also run the Medibank Melbourne Marathon’s Run Club with Steve Monghetti and dear friend Andre. I have featured in Runners World Magazine and in Body & Soul. More recently covering the Sydney Harbour 10km in ‘23, ‘24 and now ‘25 - watch this space.
Michael has been a serious runner for - well aslong as I have known him and over the last 14 years has been been lucky enough to break some pretty serious PB’s in the half and full marathon events.
In 2023 he had qualified and ran Boston Marathon and broke his own PB of 2.48hrs thanks to his own coach Dion Fionocchiaro (Australian - Ultra Runner).
Michael has since run over 15 Marathons (pretty much 1 per year).
He is a dedicated runner who is committed to staying injury free and pushing his limits with solid training.
Michael has almost completed his Athletics Australia Level 2 Run Coach Accreditation.
